Reporting guidelines
A report on SecondLook says one thing: you think the video or picture in a post came out of an AI generator, not a camera or a person's hands. Reading this once means your reports and everyone else's mean the same thing.
Report AI when
- The video or picture was made by a generator. That's where most of the fake grandmas and impossible animals in your feed come from.
- A real person's face or voice was swapped or cloned onto something they never did or said.
- The post is a slideshow of generated pictures, even when the music and the captions are real.
- The creator says it's AI. It still counts, since a label in the caption is easy to miss and people who'd rather know get told either way.
Don't report
- Filters and beauty effects on real footage.
- Ordinary editing like cuts, speed changes, color grading, green screens and text on screen.
- A caption or script someone wrote with help from a chatbot, when the pictures themselves are real.
- A computer voice reading text over real footage.
- Staged or misleading videos shot with real cameras and real people. A video can be fake without being AI-made.
- Effects and animation an artist made by hand.
- A post you just don't like, or one you aren't sure about. When in doubt, leave it.
When Looks real is the better vote
Looks real to me is for a post you've seen reported that you know is real. Maybe you know the person in it, or you found where the footage first came from.
Don't use it just because a post looks fine to you. Good fakes look fine to most people, and that's why the list exists. Votes for real count against reports. A post people disagree on is marked as disputed and never hidden, and once more than three in five votes say it's real, it drops off the list.
How reports are counted
Each install gets one vote on a post, and you can take yours back. SecondLook's own apps put a note on a post only once at least three people report it.
Reporting real posts on purpose, to pile on a creator, can get an install banned, which takes its votes back. If a real video of yours was reported, ask for a second look.
